Restaurant week is the kind of thing you want to know about before everyone else does, and this summer in Dubai, the tables are already filling up fast.

What is summer restaurant week and why does it matter

As part of Dubai Summer Surprises, Summer Restaurant Week runs from 13 July to 2 August, giving diners 3 full weeks of deals and new culinary experiences. For anyone who lives in this city, that is a meaningful window. Summer in Dubai can feel slow and quiet. This is the event that changes that feeling entirely.

This year, Summer Restaurant Week brings together more than 50 family-friendly restaurants in different areas of Dubai, celebrating the simple pleasure of dining out in relaxed and enjoyable settings. The variety across the lineup is real. On the lineup are more than 50 restaurants, from Asian hotspots to comforting Italian flavors, classic American burger joints, modern Middle Eastern spots, and more.

The event, which started in 2016, has grown into one of the most-talked-about items on Dubai’s food calendar. Dubai Restaurant Week has expanded significantly since launch. According to Ahmad Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, the event started with around 30 restaurants and now includes more than 125 participating venues across the city. The summer edition is the more intimate, neighborhood-focused version of that larger celebration.

How the menus and prices work

The pricing structure is genuinely good. Participating restaurants are offering special menus created for the event, allowing guests to enjoy a two-course lunch for AED 80, with the choice of either a starter and main course or a main course and dessert. You can also enjoy a three-course dinner for AED 120 at over 55 different venues.

This is not a compromise menu. Menus are built around signature dishes, not scaled-down versions. Restaurants put their best cooking into these sets. You get a genuine sense of what a kitchen does well, without spending at full price.

Summer Restaurant Week brings together more than 50 family-friendly restaurants in different areas of Dubai, celebrating the simple pleasure of dining out in relaxed and enjoyable settings. The initiative also gives families the chance to spend quality time together during the summer season and create lasting memories around the table.

The restaurants worth booking first

The lineup covers a broad range of cuisines and styles. This year’s lineup includes Leña Dubai, piehaus, Yù and Mì, The Beach House, Duo Gastrobar, NETTE, Lila Molino, and many more. Each of these brings a distinct point of view to the table.

Among the homegrown concepts taking part are Gerbou, which reinterprets Emirati cuisine; Girl and The Goose, serving Mesoamerican dishes inspired by Central American flavors; CQ French Brasserie, offering a Parisian-style menu; HANU, which focuses on contemporary Korean cuisine; and REIF Kushiyaki, known for its Japanese fusion dishes.

At.mosphere Burj Khalifa pairs French cuisine with sweeping Downtown vistas for dinner, while AURA Skypool Dubai serves lunch and dinner with vibrant Pan-Asian flavors and stunning Palm views. If you have visitors in town or simply want an experience that feels special, these 2 venues deliver that without the usual commitment of a full-price dinner.

An industry perspective on restaurant week

Summer Restaurant Week continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading culinary experiences within Dubai Summer Surprises. The event gives families and visitors more reasons to explore a wide range of food options in a city known for its world-class restaurants and talented chefs. The participation of more than 50 family-friendly restaurants across Dubai creates many opportunities to enjoy unforgettable dining experiences at exceptional value. The initiative reflects the continued commitment to creating experiences that encourage residents and visitors to discover more of what the city has to offer throughout the summer season.

How to make your booking

The booking process is simple and fully digital. Reservations for Summer Restaurant Week can be made through Careem DineOut, the official booking partner, directly via the Careem app. You can browse the participating restaurants, select your chosen venue and menu, pick your preferred date and time, and confirm your booking.

A fully refundable AED 1 reservation fee applies, with guests also able to choose the pay-in-advance option when making their reservation. That small deposit keeps your table secure without any real risk. It also means popular venues fill up fast once people start reserving.

The event highlights the wide variety that defines Dubai’s dining scene, giving residents and visitors plenty of options to suit different tastes. Whether diners are looking to return to their favorite neighborhood spots or discover new destinations with family and friends, the event offers an ideal opportunity to enjoy memorable meals across the city.

Why summer is the right time to do this

There is something I love about dining in Dubai during summer. The city feels quieter. Restaurants are more relaxed. Chefs have more time to focus on what they send out to the table. Curated menus at otherwise premium venues become accessible during this window. Restaurants that do not normally discount give diners a genuine opportunity to try high-quality Dubai dining at more accessible price points.
